Privacy Policy

- We collect what you give us (your account, your pet’s profile, photos, documents and chats) and how you use the app.
- We use it to run Taylo, personalize it, improve it and market it.
- We share it with service providers, AI providers, stores and pros you choose, our partners, and as the law or a business transfer requires.
- You can access, correct or delete your data, and opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how [Taylo, Inc.] (“Taylo,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use the Taylo mobile apps, the website at taylo.co and related services (together, the “Services”). By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy and to our Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account information: your name, email address, phone number and city, and the identifiers we receive when you sign in with Apple or Google.
- Pet information: your pet’s name, breed, birthday, sex, weight, photos, diet, routines, health information, medications, vaccination and veterinary records, and anything else you tell us about your pet.
- Content: messages you send in chat, answers to check-ins and questionnaires, photos, files and documents you upload, and feedback you give.
- Care team and contacts: details of your vet, groomer, sitter or other pros that you add, including contact details you choose to share from your device.
- Orders and bookings: products you order and appointments you book through the Services, delivery address and related details. Payments are processed by our payment providers and the merchants; we do not store full card numbers.
- Family members: if you invite someone to care for your pet, their name and email address.
- Communications: your messages to our support team and your marketing preferences.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage information: device type, operating system, app version, language, time zone, push notification token, crash and performance data, and how you use features (screens viewed, buttons tapped, sessions).
- Location: approximate location from your IP address, and precise location if you allow it, to show services near you.
- Identifiers: a random identifier we assign to your account and to each pet, and, where permitted, advertising identifiers.
Information from others
- Sign-in providers (Apple, Google), merchants, service pros and booking systems you connect with, payment providers, family members who share a pet with you, and publicly or commercially available sources, including data that helps us show places and services near you.
3. How we use information
We use information for any purpose described in this policy or disclosed when you provide it, including to:
- provide, operate and maintain the Services, including chat, reminders, care plans, ordering and booking;
- personalize recommendations and content for you and your pet;
- read and organize documents you upload and keep your pet’s profile up to date;
- send you service messages, reminders and push notifications;
- process orders, bookings, subscriptions and payments;
- develop, test, train and improve our products, models and features;
- analyze usage, measure performance and do research;
- market our Services and partners’ offers, including personalized and interest-based advertising, where permitted by law;
- detect, prevent and investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents and violations of our Terms;
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights.
We may create aggregated, de-identified or anonymized information that does not reasonably identify you and use and share it for any lawful purpose.
4. How we share information
We may share information as follows:
- Service providers that work for us, such as cloud hosting and storage, databases, AI model and monitoring providers, analytics, customer support, email and push notifications, maps and places data, and payment processing.
- Merchants, service pros and booking systems when you order a product or book or request a service, so they can fulfil it. They use your information under their own privacy policies.
- Partners, including retail, affiliate, advertising and marketing partners, and pet care, insurance or health partners, who may use it to offer, measure or improve products and services. Some of this sharing may be a “sale” or “sharing” under certain US state laws; see Section 9.
- Family members you invite, who can see your shared pet’s information and chat.
- Affiliates and companies under common control with Taylo.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets or similar event, information may be transferred to the buyer or successor.
- Legal and safety: to comply with law, legal process or government requests; to enforce our Terms; and to protect the rights, property or safety of Taylo, our users, pets or others.
- With your consent or at your direction.
5. AI features
Taylo uses artificial intelligence, including third-party AI models, to answer questions, read documents and make suggestions. Your messages, uploads and relevant pet and account information are sent to these providers to generate responses. We keep records of AI conversations, inputs and outputs to provide the Services, ensure safety and quality, and improve our features. AI output can be inaccurate or incomplete and is not veterinary, medical or professional advice.
6. Cookies and analytics
Our website and apps use cookies, SDKs, pixels and similar technologies to remember preferences, understand usage, measure campaigns and show relevant ads. You can control cookies through your browser and limit ad tracking through your device settings. Some features may not work without them.
7. Retention
We keep information for as long as your account is active and as long as needed for the purposes in this policy, including to comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations, resolve disputes and enforce agreements. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information, generally within 24 hours, except where we must keep it by law or for legitimate business purposes. Copies in backups may remain for up to 35 days. De-identified and aggregated information may be kept indefinitely.
8. Your choices and rights
- Access and correction: you can view and edit most account and pet information in the app.
- Deletion: you can delete your account in the app under Profile › Personal information, or by contacting us.
- Notifications: you can turn off push notifications in the app or device settings, and unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in each email. We may still send service messages.
- Location: you can turn off precise location in your device settings.
9. US state privacy rights
Depending on where you live (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon and other states), you may have the right to: know and access the personal information we hold about you; correct it; delete it; receive a portable copy; and opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and of targeted advertising. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16.
In the last 12 months we may have disclosed the categories of information in Section 2 for the business purposes in Section 3 to the categories of recipients in Section 4, and may have “sold” or “shared” identifiers, device and usage information and inferences with advertising and marketing partners.
To exercise your rights, including to opt out of sale or sharing, email support@taylo.co with the subject “Privacy request”. We will verify your request using information associated with your account. You may use an authorized agent, and we will honor recognized opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control where required by law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our decision.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit and at rest, to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of your information. You are responsible for keeping your device and account secure.
11. Children
The Services are intended for adults 18 and older and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
12. International transfers
We are based in the United States and process information in the United States and other countries where we or our providers operate. These countries may have different data protection laws than where you live. By using the Services, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in these countries.
13. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new effective date and, if changes are material, notify you in the app or by email. Your continued use of the Services after the update means you accept it.
